The new calendar year kicked off with a bang in January as domestic equity markets surged ahead on renewed optimism about the economic outlook, and the S&P/ASX 200 Index hit an all time high of 7,132 points. Even still, the near-term impacts of the bushfires and the emergence of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (‘the Coronavirus’) weighed heavily on several of our key positions during the month and the Funds remained cautiously positioned throughout January.
The OC Premium Small Companies Fund and OC Dynamic Equity Fund returned +2.1% and 2.1% respectively, behind both the S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Accumulation Index (+3.4%) and the S&P/ASX Small Industrials Accumulation Index (+4.1%).
The OC Micro-Cap Fund delivered +3.8%, ahead of the S&P/ASX Emerging Companies Index which returned +3.5%.
